In recent years, the IMF has released a growing number of reports and other documents covering economic and financial developments and trends in member countries. Each report, prepared by a staff team after discussions with government officials, is published at the option of the member country.

For 2001 and 2002 the numbers also reflect the effect of market valuation, in addition to transactions. The start-up assets in 2001 included $660 million from the sale of a 5 percent government share in TCO. The remaining balance was from oil revenue.
