Jacques Polak was the chief economist at the International Monetary Fund from 1958 to 1979. He later served as the Executive Director for the Netherlands at the IMF and as President of the Per Jacobsson Foundation. Among his many contributions to economics, he is best known as the developer of the macroeconomic model that underpins the IMF’s policy advice to its member countries.

James Boughton is the Historian of the International Monetary Fund. A former Professor of Economics at Indiana University, he has authored or edited several books, including Silent Revolution: The International Monetary Fund 1979-1989.
