In January, 1948. the French Government made a proposal to the Fund which included a change in the par value of the franc. On January 26, 1948, the proposal of the French Government was put into effect without the approval of the Fund, and at the present time there is no par value for the French franc agreed with the Fund. The proposal of the French Government related to some but not all of the separate currencies in French non-metropolitan areas, but all of these separate currencies have been omitted from the Schedule at the request of the French Government.
