Metadata for Download
IMF eLibrary provides metadata files for the complete collection of publications. Users can download metadata files in these formats:
MARC records (available in four file formats)
Excel sheet
MARC records are updated monthly, while the full Excel metadata file is updated as often as weekly. For more information about metadata, please see that section of the FAQ here.
The full MARC records for eLibrary in five different formats: Marc 21, Marc 21 xml, Marc 8*, Marc Text and Excel. There are also files for Deleted Records and Monthly Updates, available in the four Marc formats.
The files have been zipped for faster download. Please right-click on the file and select save target as, in order to open the file into your software program.
UPDATED PERSISTENT LINKS: During our recent system upgrade, we made some corrections to content categories for roughly 500 publications. The result is that these publications are now assigned to different series on the new system and old links will not redirect to the publication. This worksheet provides a mapping from the old link (Column N) to the new link (Column O) for the affected publications. When we complete the full update of the MARC records, currently in progress, this mapping will no longer be necessary. At that time, it would be advisable to reload all metadata on your system. The Full Excel Metadata listing is up to date and has the correct links.
UPDATED MARC STANDARD - RDA: Starting with the August 2021 records, the IMF has produced MARC records according to the RDA standards, to improve the usability and integration of IMF content at institutions. Please make sure your processing routine makes note of these changes and let us know of any issues you encounter. By the November update, we will provide an updated set for the Full set and previous three months. Older MARC data will continue to be available on the site, but will not be back-converted to the RDA standard.
