Just released! World Economic Outlook, October 2016 : Subdued Demand: Symptoms and Remedies

October 4, 2016

Beyond 2017, global growth is projected to gradually increase to 3.8 percent by the end of the forecast horizon.

This recovery in global activity — which is expected to be driven entirely by emerging market and developing economies — is premised on the normalization of growth rates in countries and regions under stress or growing well below potential in 2016–17 (such as Nigeria, Russia, South Africa, Latin America, parts of the Middle East), China maintaining its transition toward consumption- and services-based growth, and continued resilience in other countries.
