Abstract

Bijan B. Aghevli serves as Assistant Director in the International Monetary Fund’s Asian Department, where he heads a division covering Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Tonga. He received his doctorate in economics from Brown University (Providence, Rhode Island) and subsequently joined the Fund. During 1975-76, he was a Research Fellow at the London School of Economics, where he taught international finance and carried out research. Mr. Aghevli has published various papers in the general area of international and monetary economics.
