    Arriazu, Ricardo H. Argentina

    Economic and financial consultant to several Argentine financial institutions and Professor at the Universidad de Belgrano, Buenos Aires. He has been an economic advisor to the Presidency of the Central Bank of Argentina, an Alternate Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund, a Deputy and Participant in the Interim Committee, and Professor at the Universidad Católica Argentina (Buenos Aires).

    Bruno, Michael Israel

    Professor of Economics at Hebrew University (Jerusalem) since 1970. He has been Joint Director of the Bank of Israel’s Research Department, Visiting Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University, and Economic Policy Advisor to the Government of Israel. Mr, Bruno is a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research, a Fellow and Member of Council of the Econometric Society, and Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

    Buiter, Willem H. United Kingdom

    Cassel Professor at the London School of Economics. He has been Assistant Professor of Economics and International Affairs at Princeton University, Professor of Economics at the University of Bristol, and Consultant and Visiting Scholar at the International Monetary Fund. He is an Editor of Economic Journal.

    Claassen, Emil-Maria France

    Professor of the University of Paris-Dauphine since 1973 and at the Institute Européen d’Administration des Affaires since 1981. He has been Maitre de Recherche at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in Paris, Privat-Dozent at the University of Cologne, and Professor at the University of Giessen. Mr. Claassen has also been a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Chicago and a Visiting Professor at the Universities of Kabul, McGill, Mannheim, Pittsburgh, Queen’s, and South Carolina.

    Cooper, Richard N. United States

    Maurits C. Boas Professor of International Economics at Harvard University since 1981. He has been Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs in the U.S. State Department and Frank Altschul Professor of International Economics and Provost at Yale University. Mr. Cooper has also been a Senior Staff Economist on the (U.S.) Council of Economic Advisers and a staff member of the National Security Council.

    Cordon, W. M. Australia

    Professor of Economics at the Australian National University. He has been Nuffield Reader in International Economics and a Fellow of Nuffield College, Oxford University. Mr. Corden has taught at the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Minnesota, Princeton University, and various Australian universities. He has been a consultant to several international organizations and governments.

    De Grauwe, Paul Belgium

    Professor of Economics at the University of Louvain since 1976. He has been a Research Fellow at the Brookings Institution and an Economist at the International Monetary Fund. Mr. De Grauwe has been a Visiting Professor at the Universities of Brussels. Michigan, and Paris.

    de Vries, Rimmer United States

    Senior Vice President and Head of International Economics Department at Morgan Guaranty Trust Company since 1978. He is the editor of World Financial Markets and a member of the Time Board of Economists; the Advisory Committee of the Institute for International Economics; the Board of Directors of the Institute for International Development, Inc.; and the Conference Board Economic Forum.

    Dombusch, Rudiger United States

    Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology since 1977. He has also taught at the Universities of Chicago and Rochester. Mr. Dornbusch has been a Visiting Professor at the Fundação Getulio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro.

    Eaton, Jonathan United States

    Associate Professor of Economics at Yale University. He is a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. Mr. Eaton has been a Lecturer and Assistant Professor of Economics at Princeton University, a Visiting Associate Professor at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, and a Visiting Fellow at the Australian National University.

    Fekete, János Hungary

    First Deputy President of the National Bank of Hungary. He is Deputy Chairman of the Hungarian International Bank (London); Deputy Chairman of the Central-European International Bank (Budapest); and a board member of the International Bank for Economic Cooperation (Moscow), the International Investment Bank (Moscow), the Central Wechsel-und Credit-bank (Vienna), and the Hungarian Bank for Foreign Trade. Mr. Fekete is a Governor of the International Monetary Fund and a member of the Consultative Group on International Economic and Monetary Affairs (Group of Thirty) and of the International Conference of Commercial Bank Economists.

    Fischer, Stanley United States

    Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology since 1977. He has been a postdoctoral Fellow and Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago and a Fellow of the Institute for Advanced Studies at Hebrew University (Jerusalem). Mr. Fischer has also been a Visiting Lecturer at Hebrew University and a Visiting Scholar at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University.

    Frenkel, Jacob A. United States

    David Rockefeller Professor of International Economics at the University of Chicago, He is a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research, an Editor of the Journal of Political Economy, an Associate Editor of the Journal of Monetary Economics and Economics Letters, and a Fellow of the Econometric Society. Mr. Frenkel has been a consultant to the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the Bank of Israel.

    Grassman, Sven Sweden

    Research Fellow at the University of Stockholm since 1971. He has been Secretary of the Swedish Balance of Payments Committee and a member of the (private, Swedish) Council of Economic Advisers and the Government Council of Industrial Policy. Mr. Grassman has been a Visiting Scholar at Stanford and Princeton Universities and at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington.

    Grubel, Herbert, G. Canada

    Professor of Economics at Simon Fraser University (Vancouver) since 1972. He has been Assistant Professor at Stanford University and the University of Chicago and an Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Grubel has held research positions at the Australian National University; Nuffield College, Oxford University; and the U.S. Treasury. He has been Visiting Professor at the University of Nairobi and President of the North American Studies Association. Mr. Grubel is a member of the Board of Editors of the Fraser Institute (Vancouver).

    Kenen, Peter B. United States

    Walker Professor of Economics and International Finance and Director of International Finance Section, Princeton University since 1971. He has also taught at Columbia University, where he served as Provost and Chairman of the Economics Department. Mr. Kenen has been a consultant to the (U.S.) Council of Economic Advisers, the Bureau of the Budget, the Federal Reserve Board, the U.S. Treasury, and the United Nations. He was a Fellow of the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences, a Guggenheim Fellow, and a Visiting Research Professor at the University of California at Berkeley. Mr. Kenen is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Consultative Group on International Economic and Monetary Affairs (Group of Thirty).

    Keyzer, Marinus W. France

    Principal Administrator, Capital Markets Division of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development since 1978. Before that, he was on the staff of the central bank of the Netherlands and worked in commercial banking as a specialist in institutional portfolio management.

    Komiya, Ryutaro Japan

    Professor of Economics at the University of Tokyo since 1969. He served as the University’s Dean of the Economics Faculty and its Deputy President. Mr. Komiya was a Visiting Professor at Stanford University and a member of the United Nations Group of Eminent Persons to Study the Role of Multinational Corporations and Their Impact on Development and on International Relations. He was also a member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s Group of Independent Experts on Non-Inflationary Growth.

    Lomax, David F. United Kingdom

    Group Economic Adviser at National Westminster Bank since 1975. He formerly served in the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and in the British Foreign Office and Department of Economic Affairs. Mr. Lomax is a regular broadcaster and speaker.

    Masera, Rainer Italy

    Head of the Research Department at Banca d’Italia since 1982. He has been an Economist at the Bank for International Settlements and has taught at the Istituto Universitario di Bergamo and the University of Rome. Mr. Masera was Joint Chairman of the Monetary Policy Group of the Center for European Policy Studies (Louvain) and an alternate member of the European Economic Community Monetary Committee. He is one of the two Italian members of the Group of Ten’s Group of Deputies.

    Neumann, Manfred J. M. Federal Republic of Germany

    Professor of Political Economy at the University of Bonn since 1981. He has been Professor of Economics at the Freie Universität Berlin and an Economist at the Deutsche Bundesbank.

    Parkin, Michael Canada

    Professor of Economics at the University of Western Ontario. He has been a member of the Shadow European Economic Policy Committee. Mr. Parkin has also been Visiting Professor at Brown and Osmania Universities; Visiting Scholar at the Reserve Bank of Australia; and Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. He is Managing Editor of the Canadian Journal of Economics.

    Purvis, Douglas D. Canada

    Professor of Economics at Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario) since 1980. He has been Visiting Economist at the Reserve Bank of Australia and Consultant to the Bank of Canada. Mr. Purvis is a member of the Canadian Department of Finance’s Economic Advisory Panel and Editor of the John Deutsch Round Tables on Economic Policy.

    Roper, Don United States

    Professor of Economics at the University of Utah. He has been an Economist with the Federal Reserve Board. Mr. Roper has also been a Visiting Professor at the Australian National University and the Institute for International Economic Studies at the University of Stockholm.

    Swoboda, Alexander K. Switzerland

    Professor of Economics at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva. He is also Director of the International Center for Monetary and Banking Studies at the Institute and teaches at the University of Geneva. Mr. Swoboda has been a Postdoctoral Fellow in Political Economy and Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago and a Visiting Professor at Johns Hopkins University’s Bologna Center, the London School of Economics, and Harvard University.

    Thygesen, Niels Denmark

    Professor of Economics at the University of Copenhagen since 1971. He has worked in the Danish Ministry of Economic Affairs, as Economic Adviser to the Malaysian Ministry of Finance, and as Head of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s Monetary Division. Mr. Thygesen has been Adviser to the Bank of Denmark since 1972 and has served on several expert committees in the European Communities. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for European Policy Studies (Louvain).

    Willett, Thomas D. United States

    Horton Professor of Economics at Claremont Graduate School and Claremont McKenna College (Claremont, California). At Claremont, he is also Chair of the Graduate Economics Faculty, Director of the Claremont Center for Economic Policy Studies, and a Research Associate of both the Center for the Study of Law Structures and the Keck Institute of International Strategic Studies. Mr. Willett has taught at Cornell and Harvard Universities and has been Senior Staff Economist at the (U.S.) Council of Economic Advisers and both Director of International Monetary Research and Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Research and Planning at the U.S. Treasury.

    Williamson, John United States

    Senior Fellow at the Institute for International Economics since 1981. He has been a Professor at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Universities of Warwick and York. Mr. Williamson has also been an Advisor to the International Monetary Fund and Economic Consultant to the U.K. Treasury.
